Blood & Persecution

First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.

Where is the shame?
Who is to blame?

For all our ancient
modern
ideology.

Are we but wolves
out for the slaughter?

for all humanity
must feel the pain

to have come
so far
,
only to end
where we began

with the blood
dripping off the hands of our beloved forefathers
and onto ours.

The complete the perfect circle

of endless persecution,
of those as different from us
as they are similar.

The power of
delusional minds demanding
sacrifices of the
lives of our children
scorched in the fires
of blazing idolatry

bowing to the false Gods
and man-made images.

That feel the shame,

and cannot turn away

from the horror

that is in us all.

So true. It's much harder to face the enemy within us.

Wow, my thoughts exactly lately Poly. It's some sad stuff in the world right now, or maybe we're all just a little more tuned in these days...

I know that picture is scaring the crap outa me! is that supposed to be a clown? I am deathly afraid of clowns...now I gotta go read the rest of your stuff.

Wolves? Maybe...but I think the majority are lambs...and I don't mean that in a good way....just folloiwng the pack...come on people...create your own path, and do it right for a change.

Nicely done Polyman. If we weren't capable of evil, we'd never appreciated the love we're capable of. We really need both. You can't have a coin with just one side. You can't have up without down. You can't have dark without light.

Reminds me of Jonestown... Horrible stuff. The problem with the world today is the indifference of righteous men.

Hi Theresa,
Yes, that is our worst enemy.

Sassy,
With global reporting and internet,
we are definitly more aware of all the horrors going on around the world now-a-days. But the fact that in this day and age it is still happenning is a crime in itself- for we have never learned from our mistakes and don't show any sign of that happenning.

Miztris,
Worshipping Micky Mouse makes just
about much sense as any other idols we have put in front of us.

Beth,
The clown is in us, and that is really scary.

Odat,
We are a world of wolves and sheep.

Lee Ann,
Yes, I am so sick of hearing of mass murder and crap going on. It is so common place to hear of 50 people killed here, 25 killed there,
we have grown so numb to it, instead of outrage and action.

Dan,
So true! Ying and yang...I always said man, with his large brain is capable of such great good and love, but as an animal, is also capable of such horendous inhumanity to his fellow creatures.
I guess we all ride a fine line.

virgin,
Yes, a very good point well made.
Thx.

Becky,
So true- indifference, like I said before- it's the numbness factor;
after a while it is so commonplace to hear of all this bad shit that we get so apathetic.

So depressing yet so true!

And about the woman further down on your blog with the big cahoongas...that just looks like it hurts.

Thanks for dropping by my blog today! I love to hear from new people! I hope you'll come back again!

the cycle of birth and destruction...

there is something to be said for doing nothing --

for evil to triumph, good people need only do nothing..

in my humble opinion, i think mass media and globalisation has done much to curb the power-hungry and blood-shed..

however, allowing idiots to rule and good men dying in needless wars...

*sigh*

brilliant post, mr. poly. thought-inspiring as ever.

Very nicely done.

When does it end?

Neat pics and poetry- I appreciate the giant ghostly Mickey ready to consume those in his path. Mickey has always seemed a bit diabolical to me.
Thanks for visitin my blog- come by anytime!

Yes. And as if things weren't bad enough in Iraq, some say that it's turning into a proxy war between Iran and the U.S.

I keep staring at that 'bodybag' pic. Really bizarre. It's like the people are lying on the styro trays you buy meat on in the supermarket...
very interesting...

GREAT POST POLY VERY POIGNANT.

WE HUMANS ARE JUST SAUSAGE SKIN WALKING UP RIGHT IN A SKELETAL FRAME WITH SOME OF US SUFFERING FROM ROTTEN BRAIN SYNDROME.

EVIL IS EVERYWHERE AND ALWAYS WILL BE AS LONG AS WE HAVE DR PEPPER IN THE WORLD.TAKE CARE EVERYONE AND LIVE LIFE TO THE MAX,BECAUSE THE WAY THE WEATHER IS GOING WE ARE ALL GONNA BE IN NOAHS ARK.

By the way, thanks for posting on Live, Love and Ponder. Fatty is the boss there, but we have been trying to do a Christian blog written by very flawed Christians. It is a bit of an "anything goes, as long as it pertains to God" sort of thing. Lately I've been both blogging privately and journaling about my walk with God. So I'm at a standstill. You hit a point with your walk that it is you and God; I think of the angel who wrestled Jacob--who won and does it really matter?

girl in her underwear,
Yes, very depressing and so like me.
I like to lady with the big cans, at least she's never alone.
-and yes I will visit again, thx.

Neko,
You do have a good point that the media helps curtail the violence, I always thought of it the opposite.
I hate when our leaders use sports slang and terms to describe the war as if it was a big game.

Erika,
I wish I knew babe.

Lizard Princess,
Micky Mouse rules! and yes I'll visit again, Thx.

robmcj,
I've heard the same thing. I always think of Iraq as Battlefield Earth.

Jin,
Isn't that weird? I knew I'd use that picture sooner or later.
Love ya.

Ice,
I think I got the rotten brain syndrome, years of abuse & bad thoughts...Oh well, see you on the Ark.

Enemy,
I think what matters is how people can work their religion into everyday living. It is so hard to turn a cheek when dealing with people. Think I'd rather wrestle an Angel.

Nina,
You are the artist; I am just a parrot. (Whatever that means.)

I say...

Anulos qui animum ostendunt omnes gestemus!

The world can be depressing. Personally, I have no idea wha to do about Iraq, Iran, Venezuela, North Korea, Pakistan...the list goes on forever.

At times I wonder if we would be better off pullin our heads into our sell as a country and mind our own business and take care of our own.

Then again, I'm a dreamer.
